Current 3: BEAUTY & SKINCARE Favorites

Every month I would like to share my Favorite Beauty and Skincare Products with my lovely readers via blog posts or a YT Video. We all know by now that taking care of your body internally and your externally reaps the benefits of healthy skin. But, sometimes we all may have to combat a skin disorder that is out of our control.

So enough yapping, let's jump right in to my current favorites.

1. Simple, Micellar Cleansing Water has been one of my ride or die products ever since it was purchased. This product is made to cleanse, remove makeup, and hydrate your skin. There was so much raving about Micellar Water that I had to give it a try.

HOW I USE THE PRODUCT: After a very long workday and I'm sort of on the lazy side, I use it to cleanse my skin from all the pollutants from the day and hop in bed; think of it as my makeup remover wipe without the wipe, lol. Also since I have added retinol in my regimen which tends to make my skin peel, this refreshes my face after toning.

 2. Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair is a product that I wanted to give a shot. It had so many benefits to this moisturizer that I could not just walk pass it on the shelf. It is packed with Sunscreen, SPF 30, Retinol, and Vitamin C. I mean really what more can a lady ask for. Dealing with hyper-pigmentation and acne spots, I wanted a moisturizer that will combat my problematic skin.

HOW I USE THIS PRODUCT: I like to apply this product after toning my skin and right before I leave the house. Dealing with acne scarring the sun can actually make those spots worse, so the high SPF really helps to shield your skin. I do not like to apply this everyday because the retinol does make your skin peel.

 3. Bio-Oil is an oldie but goody. I love this because it combats many problems such as scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone and more. Having oily skin, I've always been afraid of using oils but it actually works well. It's like killing two birds with one stone.

HOW I USE THIS PRODUCT: I use it like a spot treatment, I apply the product to my dark spots and massage it into my skin. I also use this product on my tummy area due to stretch marks and my bikini line for any shaving spots.

What your Skin May Be Telling You

Have you realized that your skin may not be breaking out because of all those new products you have tried? Ever heard of Face Mapping? It tells you exactly what is wrong with your skin due everything that is going on inside of  your body. I stumbled across face mapping a while back when I was trying to figure out why my forehead and cheek area was so problematic.

Again, if you do not know. I have been suffering from acne for a year or so. It is not severe, but I tend to breakout in spurts and it may progress for weeks at a time. For the past three weeks, I have been having a major breakout. I know that is partially due to my birth control contraceptive. Also a lot of it has to deal with stress and a really poor diet.

I have been eating lots of red meat, lots of fatty foods, snacks, and plenty of cocktails. The cocktails are there for the stressful days at work and home. Eekkk! According to the face map, my digestive system is a huge problem for me. Which I knew this because of regularity (don't judge, TMI). One thing that I do is take supplements. One of my favorite supplements is Acai Berry Cleanse Pills that I purchase from the Vitamin Shoppe. I also love to drink Traditional Medicinals' Organic Smooth Move Tea, and Yogi's Healthy Skin Detox Tea. When I am drinking my tea, and at least trying to clean eat with things such as my Morning Smoothies I see a huge difference in my skin.

This week's goal is to drink LOTS OF WATER, NO SODAS or JUICES unless it is my Green Juice. To cut out ALL red MEAT, and go for fish, chicken, turkey and such. I also want to exercise by walking at least 30 minutes a day. I will also detox my skin this week with my Bentonite Clay Powder and Apple cider vinegar.

What is your skin telling you? Let us know, and tell us some of your favorite tips to keep your skin healthy.

Beauty Products: Beautiful Skin

There was a time that I can remember when my skin was so clear. It was free of blemishes and pimples, even when it was that time of the month. About a year ago my face started to break out tremendously and I had no clue why. What was this thing called adult acne? Many factors caused this to happen such as oral contraceptives, hormones, growth, stress, etc. I did not know what to do or how I should combat my skin ,because I was not use to using any kind of cleansers or specific products. I was always just using warm water and cocoa butter.

Now, let me tell you that I have tried so many products on the market. I even went to a dermatologist who prescribed medications such as Solodyn and Epiduo, which I used for awhile. Epiduo made my skin feel like it was literally on fire some days. I've also received peels and facials at the spa.

So let's just face forward to NOW. I've decided to try and use as many natural products and stick to a simple regimen to see how my face would react. So here is the key....

1. Bentonite Clay Mask + Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with equal parts. I usually try and do this once a week, every Sunday. Keep this on for 5 to 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. This has been the best thing I have ever invested in for my oily, sensitive, and acne prone skin. I see a huge difference in my hyper-pigmentation and my skin looks so much better. Hardly any breakouts.

2. Aveeno Clear Complexion & Aveeno Brightening Cleanser, I use them everyday in the shower. This has also brightened my skin and lightened my scars from pimples.

3. Neutrogena Face Wipes are great to use at night before going to bed and before cleansing your skin. They are also great for those lazy nights. Make sure to always remove your makeup before going to sleep.

4. Grapeseed Oil, I use this to moisturize my oily skin. I don't usually rub this in but pat it in my skin after cleansing. It is also a great product to remove makeup.

5. Olay ProX is my favorite tool to use. After cleansing with my hands one time, I then proceed to use the ProX to cleanse and exfoliate a second time. I use this product on a daily basis.

Everyone skin is different and does not react to each product in the same way. But, I advise you to try some of these products if you are suffering from any sort of Problematic Skin and let me know of the results. It may take a few months for you to see a difference but stay patient and consistent.

Beauty: Aveeno Products

Happy Friday! I have not gave you all any of my thoughts or picks on beauty products that I enjoy. I wanted to first start off with skincare because even under all the makeup, it is very important to take care of your skin, and using the right products that works best for you in your everyday routine. Everyone is different seeing that some of us individuals have oily skin, others have dry, and we can even have a combination of them both. Acne is also a skin problem that many people suffer from and even if they are seeing a dermatologist developing a routine at home is very vital.

My favorite Beauty/ Skincare products for my face is Aveeno. It is made with Active Natural ingredients such as Soy, Oatmeal, and wheat. The products come in a variety of combinations to help one such as the clear complexion package, or positively radiant package. These are two of my favorite and I have seen a positive difference in my face since using the foaming cleanser and daily moisturizing lotion. You can buy the products online here --> Aveeno Products  or in your stores such as Walmart and Target. One great thing I also like about Aveeno is that the line extends into products for your hair and body, your baby, and even for men. How Awesome is that!

This is my Beauty pick of the Week. What do you use daily in your skincare routine?

Lipstick & Love xoxo
