Beauty First Impressions: Maybelline FIT Me Matte & Poreless

I decided to try out a new foundation. For awhile I decided to do away with foundation and wear BB Cream. Because of my sensitive skin, breakouts, etc I did not want anything heavy on my face.

I recently purchased Maybelline FIT Me Foundation. One thing that caught my attention is that it was Matte and Poreless. My oily skin gals know what I mean when we find anything that says Matte.

The shade I purchased was #355 Coconut.

What I love about this foundation
1. It is lightweight but it is full coverage.
2. It literally takes a nickel sized dab to cover my entire face.
3. The shade matches my skin perfectly. I do not have to mix any other shade with this foundation.
4. You can wear it for at least 4/5 hours without getting oily in the T-Zone.

The picture above shows my first time applying the foundation without a primer to test it out.

I would definitely recommend it. Thumbs up! Now when I apply foundation this is my first go to. Some compare it to MAC and Estée Lauder Foundation.

Try it out and let me know your thoughts.

Beauty: E.L.F Skincare Line

Raving about skincare is a Big Beauty Obsession that I have. Healthy skin is very important whether you wear makeup on a daily basis or not. And, if you do wear makeup having healthy skin is the foundation for a beautiful enhanced face.

So you wonder what's in store for the affordable brand and the skin care line that will be launching very soon. I have a few deets from visiting the E.L.F. website. And, if you do not know what the letters stands for, it is Eyes, Lips, Face. I am a true fan on this drugstore brand. They have products that are of amazing quality for half the price of name brand items. Here are some of the items I can't wait to try out. 4 of the items will be shipping in February and are already available for pre-order.

Illuminating Eye Cream The Illuminating Eye Cream $10.00 It will be an item to help reduce puffiness and the appearance of dark circles. Ingredients include Jojoba, Vitamin E, Cucumber and Purified Water.

Exfoliating Scrub Exfoliating Scrub, $8.00.  An exfoliate is always great to remove the dead skin cells and create a healthy glow.
Nourishing Night CreamNourishing Night Cream $12.00, What girl doesn't want a product working overnight on her skin so she wakes up with a refreshed and rejuvenated glow. This product also has aloe, vitamin e, and cucumber.

There are many more items on the list that I can't wait to get my hands on. I'm hoping to have the entire line. Hey, Why Not?? The spring and summer will be approaching soon, and I love minimum makeup. like they say "Summer Bodies are made in the Winter", Treat your skin the same way.

Let me know if you are a fan of E.L.F and what products you will be trying....

First Impressions: Product Review

Concealers are a must-have in your makeup stash. WHY? They are perfect for those sleepless nights, to cover imperfections, and for minimal everyday wear.
_________________________________________________________________________________

I am a fan of concealers, not only for under eye highlight but for color and correction as well. I have been on a hunt for a corrector concealer and since I have yet to purchase MAC Corrector Palette I decided to give another brand a shot. Well, I went to Target and purchased two second to none concealers from Iman Cosmetics

Shades Purchased: Clay Medium & Medium Deep.

Now before I get into my opinion, I want to say that I love how the brand has so many shades for women like myself. They have shades for women of a darker complexion. The brand also has a variety of products that you don't have to look anywhere else for this bb cream and that powder and can stick with them for a full face.

Pros:
The makeup is very lightweight and can be used just by itself.
It is very affordable and can be found in many cosmetic stores such as Target and Ulta.
I love concealer pots because you can get out just enough without squeezing out too much with the tubes.

Cons:
It does not meant for anyone who wants to conceal or correct. (Well, not for me.) If you are looking for a heavier consistency then I would not recommend this concealer.

I am still on the hunt for a great brand. I love MAC's Concealers and LA Pro but what are some other brands that you love??

Indulge: Selfies/ Love Thyself

So we all know #Selfies have became the infamous trend of social media. Heck, even Kim K has a selfie book. It's weird but when you think about it, a woman should love herself. She should be confident of her features and who she is. If you don't love you, how'd you expect for anyone else too?

Well let's just say I had a selfie swarway (that's not even a word, lol) but whatevs. I was once a makeup feen and things changed. But, I decided to play in makeup and fill my camera roll.

I know, I know. Operation overload eh? But how great does it feel when you finally get your mojo back, MILF status? Lol. The whole point is that I want you to love yourself, do not be so consumed in what everyone else looks like and think that you have to be that way. Express your individuality and uniqueness whether you have kinky or straight hair, whether you are a minimalist or not. Don't conform to this world. ;) BE YOU BEAITIFUL!

Face: Dupe/VS Makeup products

                         VS/Dupe for:

When I was a true makeup junkie I was introduced to MAC's Fix+ Spray. The mua suggested this product to me years ago and advised that it would keep my makeup in place throughout the day. Years later I must say that I love the product. I have found that it works well when also applying highlight and foundation to the skin by spritzing a beauty blender sponge for a flawless application.

While shopping in Target, I came across ELF's Makeup & Mist Set which is suppose to perform in the same manner as Fix+. ELF's spray has Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumbers and Vitamins A, C, & E which caught my eye. Guess what? It was a whopping $3 bucks. I really do love the ELF Makeup line because not only is it affordable but the products are of good quality. My favorite Bronzer of all time is created by the line.

So, my thoughts you ask? I have been using the ELF product for three days exactly. I really like how the product sets my makeup but one con is that my makeup does not stay on all day. Now, I must say that I am only using my Iman BB Cream right now and no primer because the season is warmer and I try to apply minimum to my face. But I would recommend it to all my new and guru makeup lovers. And even if you don't wear makeup it is a great hydration for you skin when you're out in the sun.

Have you tried the product yet?

MyBrownCanvas: Face Cleansers

Mia2â„¢ Skin Cleansing SystemMiaâ„¢ Skin Cleansing SystemOlay Professional Microdermabrasion + Advanced Cleansing SystemOlay Fresh Effects Va-Va-Vivid! Powered Contour Cleansing SystemOlay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing SystemSt. Ives Scrub Free Exfoliating Pads - 60 count

Having a clean face is very important. Washing your face every morning and night before bed helps to cleanse the skin of dirt, impurities, and makeup. It is normal that some may just use warm water to cleanse their face while others opt to indulge in facial cleansers, exfoliates, and tools in their everyday regimen.

Facial cleansers are a great tool to have in your beauty cabinet because it helps to remove dead skin cells, and clean off excess dirt that may still be lingering onto your skin and for deeper cleansing. It is not essential to use them in conjunction with an exfoliate scrub because your skin may end up becoming more raw than obtaining the benefits of the tool.

You can try out the Olay Pro X  which can be brought in stores such as Target before spending the big bucks on a Clarisonic Mia which that is found online or stores like Sephora.

Also using exfoliate pads that are dual sided with ridges and a smooth soapy pad reaps many pro's to a daily facial regimen especially to individuals like myself with very sensitive skin and is the least expensive.

Sleeping in makeup or going to bed with a dirty face can cause skin problems and bring about aging as well. Be sure to change out your pillow case often. Your Skin is the largest organ on your body, treat it daily. Good skin is the foundation for a flawless face, with or without makeup.

What tools do you have plugged into your bathroom for beauty?

Glam Gal: Lipstick & Love

Good Saturday Morning to you Beautiful
People! This week I decided to get glam and rock some lip colors. Usually I only apply bold lipstick when hanging out, but not during my work week. *starts to sing: Staying alive working 9 to 5, my 9 to 5*

The lip colors I werked from top to bottom were RiRi Heaux: I like the matte feel of this lipstick and also it still has moisture not making the lips feel cracked and dry. Second, was RiRi Woo lipstick and it is also matte. The red lipstick is definitely a signature color. Lastly, I kept it simple with MAC's lipglass in Salmon. Now this gloss is perfect to wear alone or paired on top of any lipstick to get a shine. Oh, and it was also a headband and bad hair week but it all worked out perfectly.

Tell me more of the lip colors that you like to wear this fall or any time!

Beauty: Aveeno Products

Happy Friday! I have not gave you all any of my thoughts or picks on beauty products that I enjoy. I wanted to first start off with skincare because even under all the makeup, it is very important to take care of your skin, and using the right products that works best for you in your everyday routine. Everyone is different seeing that some of us individuals have oily skin, others have dry, and we can even have a combination of them both. Acne is also a skin problem that many people suffer from and even if they are seeing a dermatologist developing a routine at home is very vital.

My favorite Beauty/ Skincare products for my face is Aveeno. It is made with Active Natural ingredients such as Soy, Oatmeal, and wheat. The products come in a variety of combinations to help one such as the clear complexion package, or positively radiant package. These are two of my favorite and I have seen a positive difference in my face since using the foaming cleanser and daily moisturizing lotion. You can buy the products online here --> Aveeno Products  or in your stores such as Walmart and Target. One great thing I also like about Aveeno is that the line extends into products for your hair and body, your baby, and even for men. How Awesome is that!

This is my Beauty pick of the Week. What do you use daily in your skincare routine?

Lipstick & Love xoxo
