What I'm Wearing: Faux Fur

Everyone that knows me can tell you that I have an addiction for faux fur. It's a very trendy statement piece that you can add to any outfit. When the weather is slightly chilly but not too cold for that thick pea coat, throw on your faux fur and rock out in style.

What I'm Wearing:  The boots are oldies from Just Fab. I purchased this vest from Target for $39.99. The dress is also from one of Target's designer collection collabs with Phillip Lim.

Can I just pause right there..... I freaking' LOOVVVEEEE when Targe' bring the designer collections.

Also, one major hair flip for my do'. I have been wearing my natural hair for some time now and it has been one of the best decisions. Although I have not wore too many styles in it's curly state, I love a mean blowout and my Instyler tool.

Summer Style: Birkenstock Trend Sandal

The Birkenstock style is in full effect ladies. I know that I am not the only person who loves how fashionable they have created the Birkenstock trend to be this season. I can remember way back when it was just the regular pair usually created in one color, and now they are made in a variety of styles and patterns.

Let me just be honest here! Shopping in Target is my ultimate weakness, like I seriously think that I need intervention or a detox from the store. Okay, Okay so listen... I went in there one night for some odd reason, probably just to see what I can buy as always and I ran across the Sam&Libby sandal that resembled the Birkenstock. You see I never really thought about purchasing a pair of these before until watching Youtube Guru Vicky Logan Summer 2014 Lookbook: How to Style Birkenstocks and I fell in love with them, like Love at first sight.

I wear them every chance I get, Judge Me If you like. What are your thoughts on the style?

Alice & Olivia Fashion Week

Can we honestly just take a moment of silence for the Alice & Olivia Collection? *Literal Pause* I am freaking gagging over every piece that I have seen! I honestly will be investing in this collection with the help of sweet baby Jesus. A+O designer, Stacey put on a themed theater production show that told a enchanted story.

The clothes were tied into a Victorian element with almost every look incorporating a black ribbon studded with crystal and gold flowers worn as either a choker or belt. It was the seventies feel with flared jeans, and long coats.

Words can't even really describe the sophistication, goth, Victorian, sexy , sassy collection!! Whew!!!!

#NYFW Continues: Tracy Reese

Tracy Reese shown above is the designer for the collection. She is one of the few black female designers. Tracey stated that "runway diversity is only part of the problem with fashion, but it is also behind the scenes as well". She is known for having a diverse runway. Statistics state that only 6% of Fashion Week Models are black.

It is a very uncomfortable thing to think of when you hardly see faces of color gracing the runways for such designer brands, but you always see young black women and men spending their cash on high priced fashion accessories, clothing, and shoes in every picture posted on social sites. It is frustrating to know that women of color have so much talent when it comes to all aspects of fashion such as designing, styling, and more but can't break out into those fields because of their skin type. Models have spoken out on this situation, and some designers have tried to add more brown girls to their lineups.

Do you think this stereotype will ever be broken?? Do you believe that the designers really embrace us or just put us in their shows just so they will not get a bad rep??

Style: Rachel Roy Fashion Week, NYC

Fashion Week has began in the Big Apple. NYC, who has regained their top title as The Fashion Capital began Fashion Week, and Rachel Roy previewed her line February 5th. She stated that the Fall 2014 line was feminine but cool and simple pieces. The dresses were made to look as if they were multiple pieces but really one. Rachel line is for the chic but edgy woman, and can be worn out on the town, to business meetings, and more. The (long) leather gloves, lace, and prints really make these outfits a statement piece. Rachel's clothing line is found in stores such as Macy's. You can also shop her Rachel Roy collection in Saks, Nordstrom's, and Neiman Marcus. The Red is really daring, it is a ensemble that fits my personal style.

Glam Gal: Lipstick & Love

Good Saturday Morning to you Beautiful

People! This week I decided to get glam and rock some lip colors. Usually I only apply bold lipstick when hanging out, but not during my work week. *starts to sing: Staying alive working 9 to 5, my 9 to 5* 

The lip colors I werked from top to bottom were RiRi Heaux: I like the matte feel of this lipstick and also it still has moisture not making the lips feel cracked and dry. Second, was RiRi Woo lipstick and it is also matte. The red lipstick is definitely a signature color. Lastly, I kept it simple with MAC's lipglass in Salmon. Now this gloss is perfect to wear alone or paired on top of any lipstick to get a shine. Oh, and it was also a headband and bad hair week but it all worked out perfectly.

Such a late Wednesday post, excuse me but my days are very long sometimes! But my goal is to remain consistent no matter what. I want to bring more fashion photos to the site so that is in the plans, hang on with me! Lol. 

A little style goes a long way! How can one go wrong with Plaid and Riding Boots? I am loving this jacket I purchased not too long ago and it is just the right statement piece for any outfit. Since plaid is on the trending list it's perfect for fall wear. I have yet to go with the plaid button down trend but I plan on it. What plaid pieces have you wore lately?

Get Glam: Pointed Pumps

My Get Glam pick is the pointed toe pumps. I know that this style has made it's comeback for some time now, but I have yet to really get into it. Not because I don't think that they are stylish but I just haven't snagged many pairs to wear just yet. I brought a pair last year and they are still boxed in my closet waiting to be worn. I really think this style goes well with boyfriend jeans and any shirt of choice whether a button down, t shirt, or chiffon top. These pumps are such a classic and great for business events, and interviews not limited to a night out on the town or dinner with your love. Are you into them yet or you'd rather just stick to other choices?

Saturday Style: Work Week OOTD

Happy Saturday Loves! I know I'm posting super late but it's been a long productive day. I wore this outfit during the week for work. It's just another comfy chic' ensemble for me, anything with prints and color is my go to style. I snagged the top from the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection for Target, did you get anything when it made its debut? 

I am hoping to change up my style very soon, I would like to incorporate very sleek, sophisticated and tailored pieces to my personal wardrobe. I love that your style can be whatever you like, it can always evolve. Fashion is really priceless.

Personal Style: OOTD

I decided to showcase a little of my own personal style today or in other words my  OOTD. It was very rainy here so I actually changed out of my pumps into a pair of Zara flats. 

I would like to describe my go to ensemble as comfy chic'. Being that I work in a office, flats and comfort is best for sitting at a desk for many hours. I'm obsessed with heels, handbags and color when choosing pieces to purchase or wear. What do your personal style usually consist of??

Get Glam is my pick of the week regarding Fashion likes and trends. I have chose Leather Pencil Skirt's because of the sophistication they give to your outfit. The leather pencil skirt is a statement piece screaming "I'm a Ladddyyy" if worn in all of the right ways. Pair your leather skirt with a pointed toe pump and a chevron top and you could never go wrong!

Sunday Spolight this week is dedicated to Songwriter & Songstress, Keri Hilson. Keri is a Grammy nominated singer and has made classic hits that we've jammed to such as the songs "Pretty Girl Rock" and "Turning me On".

 Her poetic justice hairstyle that consists of long flowy braids have been seen on her lately is the perfect eloquence to her features. Keri displays style, grace, and talent that's why she is our Sunday Spotlight of the Week!
