Alice & Olivia Fashion Week

Can we honestly just take a moment of silence for the Alice & Olivia Collection? *Literal Pause* I am freaking gagging over every piece that I have seen! I honestly will be investing in this collection with the help of sweet baby Jesus. A+O designer, Stacey put on a themed theater production show that told a enchanted story.

The clothes were tied into a Victorian element with almost every look incorporating a black ribbon studded with crystal and gold flowers worn as either a choker or belt. It was the seventies feel with flared jeans, and long coats.

Words can't even really describe the sophistication, goth, Victorian, sexy , sassy collection!! Whew!!!!

#FashionWeek: BCBG Max Azria

#FashionWeek is in full effect over in NYC!! The designers, magazine contributors, bloggers, and fashionista's are parading the streets working their best attire and over sized sunglasses sitting front row at the best shows. BCBG Max Azria was in the line up yesterday 2/6/14 for their FALL 2014' line. Long lengths, knee high boots, and fur made the outfits stand out. The attire ranged from dresses to ponchos to two piece ensembles. I am all here for this collection! I love every piece, and will love to get my hands on a few items if I could.

Style: Rachel Roy Fashion Week, NYC

Fashion Week has began in the Big Apple. NYC, who has regained their top title as The Fashion Capital began Fashion Week, and Rachel Roy previewed her line February 5th. She stated that the Fall 2014 line was feminine but cool and simple pieces. The dresses were made to look as if they were multiple pieces but really one. Rachel line is for the chic but edgy woman, and can be worn out on the town, to business meetings, and more. The (long) leather gloves, lace, and prints really make these outfits a statement piece. Rachel's clothing line is found in stores such as Macy's. You can also shop her Rachel Roy collection in Saks, Nordstrom's, and Neiman Marcus. The Red is really daring, it is a ensemble that fits my personal style.

Black History Month: Black is Beautiful

My Black is Beautiful.. Isn't it truly breathtaking to see so many shades of brown and the beauty in our skin tone, the depth of our features, and the road that we have conquered? Lupito Nyong'o is a stunning woman. Have you seen her gracing the red carpets lately??? Her bold hairstyles and fashionable gowns have been in the spotlight, she is setting the new year off right. She has features that I adore, rocking such a low cut shows her true beauty, reminds me of India Arie song I am Not My Hair....

I watched 12 years a slave for the first time this weekend, and I must say that she did an incredible job in her role. She was even adored then despite the difficult times she withstood in the movie. We as women, we as African Americans have endured so much from the beginning of time, and we still have a long way to go in my mind. But, the obstacles and shortcomings of racism and being held as slaves has changed in some ways. I am thankful for freedom. Could you only imagine the half of what our ancestors went through?? Be Grateful!

Lupito Nyong'o is what I call a Woman of MY BROWN CANVAS. Her skin, her hair, and inspiration to many as a woman of color and as a actress breaking into film is undeniable talent.

Miley Cyrus is giving all kinds of fierce, alter ego, high fashion meets nudity in her latest photo shoot for W Magazine March 2014. I did not even recognize her with the platinum blonde hair and eyebrows. Asymmetrical Bobs are really on trend and making a statement in the celebrity spotlight. Miley might be the new model for ad campaigns and magazines in the near future. What do you think ???
